🥚 Make the Custard
Whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a shallow dish until fully combined and smooth.
🍞 Soak the Bread
Dip each slice of bread into the custard, letting it soak 20–30 seconds per side. Use thick, slightly stale bread so it absorbs without falling apart.
🍳 Cook
Melt a little butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook each slice 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and set in the center.
🍁 Serve
Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with plenty of maple syrup and fresh berries.
