Soft & Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

🧂 Ingredients

  • 1 cup salted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 2 cups (12 oz) chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)

📖 Instructions

1.🔥 Prep the Oven & Pans
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
Line three baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside

2. 🥄Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together:
Flour
Baking soda
Baking powder
Sea salt

Set aside

3. 🥄 Cream the Butter & Sugars
In a large mixing bowl, cream together:
Softened butter
Granulated sugar
Brown sugar

Mix until light and fluffy (about 1–2 minutes)

4. 🫗 Add Eggs & Vanilla
Beat in the eggs, one at a time
Add vanilla extract
Mix until smooth and pale

5. 🌀Combine Wet & Dry
Gradually mix in the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredients until fully combined
Don’t overmix — just until no flour streaks remain

6. 🥄 Add the Chocolate Chips
Fold in the chocolate chips evenly

7. 🍪 Scoop the Dough
Roll 2–3 tablespoons of dough into balls
(smaller for crispier edges, bigger for soft centers)
Place on prepared baking sheets with space between each cookie

8. ⏲️ Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 8–10 minutes, or until edges are just barely golden
The centers may look slightly underbaked — that’s perfect

9. ❄️ Cool
Let cookies sit on the baking sheet for 5 minutes
Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely (or eat one warm — you've earned it!)

💡 Tips
Chill the dough for 30–60 minutes if you want thicker cookies
Use a mix of semi-sweet + dark chocolate chips for extra depth
Add flaky sea salt on top before baking for that bakery-style finish
