📖 Instructions

⚪ Form Loose Balls
Divide the beef into 4 loose balls — do not pack them tightly. Loose meat gives the signature craggy, crispy edges.

🔥 Smash
Heat a cast-iron skillet or griddle until screaming hot. Place a ball down, then smash flat hard with a sturdy spatula for about 10 seconds. Season with salt and pepper.

🍔 Sear the Crust
Cook undisturbed for 2–3 minutes until a deep brown crust forms, then flip. Add a slice of cheese immediately and cook 1 minute more.

🧈 Toast the Buns
Butter the buns and toast them cut-side down on the griddle until golden.

🥬 Build
Stack the patties on the toasted buns with pickles, lettuce, and your favorite sauce. Serve hot — double them up for the full smash-burger experience.
