Korean Dumplings

πŸ§‚ Ingredients

  • 1 small cabbage
  • 3 stalks of scallions
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 3 lbs ground beef
  • Β½ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 3 packs round wonton wrapper
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp Korean red pepper powder

πŸ“– Instructions

🍞 Prepare the filling:
Finely chop 1 small head of cabbage (or Β½ of a medium head).
Add finely sliced scallions, salt, ground beef, sugar, pepper, and minced garlic.
In a large bowl, combine everything and mix thoroughly until well combined.

πŸ₯Ÿ Fill and fold:
Place 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of a wonton wrapper.
Separate egg white from yolk and use the white to moisten the edge of the wrapper.
Fold the wrapper in half and press to seal, pinching or pleating if you like.

πŸ”₯ Choose Your Cooking Method
To Boil:
Drop dumplings into boiling water.
When they float, cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
To Steam:
Steam over high heat for 8–10 minutes.
To Pan-Fry (Potstickers):
Heat oil in a nonstick pan.
Place dumplings flat-side down and fry for 2 minutes.
Add ΒΌ cup water, cover, and steam-fry until the water evaporates and bottoms are crisp.

🍽️ Serve with Dipping Sauce
Mix together:
Soy sauce
Vinegar
A pinch of Korean red pepper powder (gochugaru)

Serve warm alongside your freshly cooked dumplings.
