📖 Instructions

🥄 Prepare the patties:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated onion, minced garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika (if using). Mix until just combined; do not overwork the meat.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Make the patties slightly larger than your buns, as they will shrink while grilling.
Press a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent the burger from puffing up while cooking.

🔥 Preheat the grill:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F/200°C). If using a charcoal grill, ensure the coals are hot and spread evenly.
Lightly oil the grill grates with a paper towel dipped in oil

🔥 Grill the burgers:
Place the patties on the grill over direct heat.
Grill the first side for 90 seconds. ⏱️
After 90 seconds, turn the patties a quarter turn (for cross-hatch grill marks) and grill for another 90 seconds.
Flip the patties over and grill the second side for 90 seconds.
After searing the second side, move the patties to indirect heat and cook until they reach your desired level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check doneness (160°F for medium).
If you’re adding cheese, place a slice of cheese on each patty during the last minute of grilling to melt it.

🧇 Toast the buns:
While the burgers are grilling, slice the hamburger buns in half. Place the buns, cut-side down, on the grill for 1-2 minutes, or until they are lightly toasted and golden.

🍔 Assemble the burgers:
Once the burgers are cooked to your liking, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a minute.
To assemble, place each burger patty on the bottom half of a toasted bun. Top with your choice of condiments, lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and the top half of the bun.

🍺 Serve:
Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite sides like French fries, coleslaw, or a fresh salad.
