🧂 Ingredients
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup mascarpone cheese
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ¾ cup strong brewed coffee
- 1 tbsp coffee liqueur
- 10 ladyfinger cookies (savoiardi)
- unsweetened cocoa powder
- dark chocolate shavings
📖 Instructions
Servings: 4
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Chill Time: 4 hours (or overnight)
☕ Make the coffee dip
In a shallow bowl, combine the cooled coffee with liqueur (if using, e.g. Kahlúa or Marsala). Set aside.
🧁 Make the mascarpone cream
Using a mixer, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. In a separate bowl, mix mascarpone, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until combined and fluffy.
🍪 Layer it up
Briefly dip each piece of ladyfinger in the coffee mixture (1–2 seconds max).
Place a few soaked pieces at the bottom of a small glass or cup.
Add a spoonful of the mascarpone cream on top.
Repeat layers until the cup is full, ending with a layer of cream.
❄️ Chill
Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
🍫 Finish & serve
Just before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle with chocolate shavings or a pinch of espresso powder if desired.
💡 Tips:
Use a piping bag for a neater cream layer.
Swap in berries or Nutella for a creative twist.
